As the Official Cleanup and Restoration Company of the PGA Tour and Champions Tour, SERVPRO of Quincy / SERVPRO of Weymouth - Hingham was honored to be able to offer the TPC Boston precautionary sanitizing & disinfecting services to ready their property for the upcoming Northern Trust PGA event. Our team received a full screening to ensure there were no carriers present during the event.

EPA-registered disinfectant was distributed via electrostatic fogger, which delivers highly compressed air, combined with tiny electrostatically-charged droplets of disinfectant.  These charged droplets adhere well to surface areas (floors, walls, doors, flat surfaces, switches, etc., to give you peace of mind that extensive cleaning and disinfecting steps have been taken. We provided additional cleaning & disinfecting of surfaces & our team will be present throughout the tournament to offer PGA players peace of mind that their safety is the number one priority when they head this way!

We are wishing Brandt success!

Much like water damage categories, there are different levels of COVID-19 cleanings, precautionary, suspected, and confirmed. These differentiations determine protocol when it comes to providing preventative measures as well as cleaning & disinfection after someone within the building has tested positive.

Precautionary/Preventative - cleanings are a measure taken when there has been no confirmed or suspected cases.

Suspected/Person Under Investigation - cleanings happen when there is reasonable suspicion that the virus is present, or one or more people that have been in the building have been tested and are waiting for results.

Confirmed - cleanings happen after there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 onsite.

It is very important that Weymouth property owners and business stakeholders recognize their own abilities, comfort levels, resources, and risk factors. While all stages require proper precautionary & intentional steps, the CDC has issued the following protocol in regards to , Confirmed cleaning & disinfection:

  • Workers must be trained to follow OSHA regulations
  • Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) donning and doffing
  • Compliance with Bloodborne Pathogens and proper disposal of of regulated waste and PPE
  • Disinfectants used include - diluted bleach solutions, alcohol solutions, household cleaners followed by disinfectants, EPA registered household disinfectants

SERVPRO understands the immediate need for all stages, which is why we have made ourselves available 24/7 to offer disinfection services. We are able to offer disinfection services to buildings of all sizes, including residences for those in need. Please don’t hesitate to call our office for more information on proper protocol, pricing, and the products we are using. (781) 337-0344

Spring Clean-Up: Not Just About Good House Keeping

10/9/2016 (Permalink)

When you consider that the air in your home is 10 times dirtier than the air outside, Spring cleaning is about healthier living. Allergens have been accumulating during the months of winter with dust, dust mites, animal dander, mold, mildew, and ordinary house- hold dirt and grime lurking inside your home. Unless you clean them now, you’ll continue to share your living space with them.

Your friends at SERVPRO of Weymouth have compiled this checklist to help make sure that this year’s Spring cleaning leaves your home sparkling, spotless, and allergy-free:

Eliminate mold and mildew indoors by cleaning under the refrigerator, washing and disinfecting garbage cans, scrubbing bathrooms, and cleaning or changing shower curtains.

Examine and clean your basement thoroughly, since mold and mildew flourish in damp environments. You also can help prevent the growth of mold and mildew with humidity control products.

Remove any wet piles of leaves, grass, or mulch outside your home, since mold spores are airborne particles that can easily float indoors.

Vacuum those areas often neglected, even if they do not look dirty, since invisible allergens have a way of collecting in these undisturbed corners.

Dust everything including light fixtures, ceiling fan blades, and the tops of cabinets and armoires. You also may want to consider using an electrostatically charged cloth that traps dust, or a vacuum attachment designed specifically for dusting.

Remember to change the filters on your air conditioner, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, windows and vents. After cleaning your house, you want all the incoming air to be clean, fresh, and breathable.

Fall Property Maintenance Tips

9/21/2016 (Permalink)

Did you know? The air in your home is 10 times more dirty than the air outside.

During the Spring and Summer months, allergens accumulate and fill areas of your home or office with dust, dust mites, animal dander, mold and other unhealthy elements. Unless you address the situation now, the air quality will continue to deteriorate.

Your friends at SERVPRO of Weymouth want to ensure that you and your property are properly prepared for the upcoming season. Therefore, we would like to offer you some helpful tips that will adequately prepare your property for the Fall:

  • Eliminate mold and mildew indoors by cleaning under the refrigerator, washing and disinfecting garbage cans, scrubbing bathrooms, and cleaning or changing shower curtains
  • Remove any wet debris from around the home or office, as mold spores are airborne particles that can easily float indoors
  • Schedule to have your chimney cleaned within the next month. Excessive buildup of creosote and debris, as well as miscellaneous branches, leaves and animal nests can create a dangerous situation as it increases the potential to spark a chimney fire.
  • Remember not to ignore your ductwork, vents and HVAC systems. Unnecessary dirt and debris can pose a serious threat to the health of your family or employees if they are not properly maintained.

SERVPRO’s licensed technicians can provide all of the remediation and cleaning services necessary for the upcoming season. A proper cleaning will combat all particles that infiltrate your property and provide for a safe and worry-free environment by:

  • Enhancing your indoor air quality
  • Improving overall air circulation
  • Eliminating built-up dirt and contaminants
  • Extending the life of your heating and cooling systems

Call the professionals at SERVPRO of Weymouth at (781) 337-0344 and rest easier this Fall knowing your property is clean and out of harm’s way.
