Disastrous Homecoming

During the Massachusetts deep freeze on Valentine’s Day 2016, our customers in Duxbury, MA returned home from a week-long vacation to discover their finished basement had flooded due to a broken pipe. At this time the customers contacted their insurance company who referred SERVPRO of Weymouth to inspect and provide water mitigation services. At this time, we went out to the home and found that the fire department had shut the lights & water off. SERVPRO of Weymouth was able to quickly respond and contacted the customer's insurance company to receive approval on putting a our high powered tow behind generator to start the extraction and proceed with the restoration & drying services. SERVPRO of Weymouth had their team of crew members assembled at the home within the hour and services continued that day and for the next couple of days, which included packing and moving out of the salvageable contents, removal and disposal of all the non-salvageable contents, while also taking photos and documenting the contents and process to submit to insurance, and removing the affected carpets and removal of affected walls to remove the affect insulation. The customers were relieved to have SERVPRO of Weymouth take control and assist them after coming home from a vacation to a disaster. It was a quick turn around and one we were very happy to assist with.
